For the Love of Reading

The second annual For the Love of Reading book drive officially kicks off Monday, October 17th, and runs through Friday, January 13th. During March's Reading Month, each first grader in the district will be gifted with one of these books, sparking a lifetime love of reading.

Help promote literacy by bringing a new copy of your favorite childhood book to your building's donation box. Community members can drop off new books at the Chippewa Valley Schools Administration Center, 19120 Cass Ave., Clinton Township, MI 48038.

Please include a personalized message within the cover of your book to add to the excitement and help promote a love of reading.

About the drive

Research shows that the number of books in a child’s household corresponds to that child’s academic success. However, not every child is fortunate enough to have a household full of books; some children do not have any books at all. The For the Love of Reading Book Drive was developed to ensure that every child in Chippewa Valley Schools has at least one book in his or her household.

How to Participate
