VFW Camp Trotter

Camp Trotter is owned and operated by Department of Michigan VFW as a childrens camp 7 miles east of Newaygo on M-82.

Age for campers is 7-12 and cost is $300 per camper, and includes food and lodging. Camp activities include swimming, boating, hiking, biking, arts and crafts, archery, softball, volleyball, as well as campfire activities. The children are given a general knowledge of science, art, and nature, and taught patriotism, courage, and self-reliance. We try to instill morals and values by combining educational activities with fun.

They are also looking to fill staffing positions for female and male counselors (18 or older), lifeguards, kitchen staff, and janitor/maintenance workers. If interested, please contact OrvilleB831@comcast.net or 734-486-8608.

The camp dates for the 2022 season are as follows: July 10-16,  July 17-23, July 24-30, July 31-August 6. August 20 is Camp Trotter Family Day!

Campers DO NOT need to be associated with any Veteran organization or related to any Veteran. It is open to all children ages 7-12. There are some scholarships available for those in need. If you are interested or need more information pleas contact Gwen at 586-413-2430.

You may ask How can I help? Sponsor a camper (or part of it), donate to general fund or in someone's memory, purchase a Life Membership in Camp Trotter for $50, or promote the camp to your family and friends. If you choose to donate you can do so through the VFW Auxiliary by making checks out to Post 6691 and put in the memo line what you want it to go to, or you can call Gwen at 586-413-2430.
