May 1 - May 7, 2022 is designated to recognize the men and women who work in the field of corrections. Every year the first full week of May is National Correctional Officers Week in recognition of the contributions of correctional officers to our nation. This was originally declared by President Ronald Reagan in 1984 and remains in effect today. The MCSO knows firsthand how essential these deputies are and this week is dedicated to them.
Although we only have a few of our deputies pictured, we are thankful for all of their professionalism, commitment, and dedication to their chosen career in corrections. This has been a time that has tested us all and they continue to rise above the challenges we are faced with daily.
Thank you to all of the corrections officers out there.
Note: The last photo is from training, the helpful Sergeant is not an inmate.
