We Are Hiring - Director of Curriculum and Educational Services

Clintondale Community Schools issued the following announcement on Apr 15.

The Director of Curriculum and Educational Services provides leadership for the district in the areas of curriculum development and implementation, instructional practices, assessment and professional development. The position includes identifying the needs of the district in those areas, the coordination of the PreK-12 instructional programs

and the supervision of assigned staff.

COMPENSATION

Based on education and experience, with full benefit package, life insurance, vision, dental.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Works collaboratively with the Superintendent, Board of Education, Administrators, staff and community as appropriate.

- Defines the vision for the district that supports the academic and social/emotional growth of all students.

- Implements the vision by providing leadership in the area of PreK-12 curriculum development, instruction, assessment and instructional programs.

- Researches and develops proposals for enriching curriculum and instruction within the district.

- Works with administrators and teacher leaders in planning and implementing professional development as related to ongoing curriculum and instructional initiatives.

- Serves as a mentor and resource for colleagues by providing expertise in leadership, assessment, differentiated instruction and research based best practices.

- Facilitates student data analysis with Administrators and curriculum teams to identify trends, the cause of student misunderstandings and adapts instruction that supports all students in making progress toward learning targets.

- Provides leadership with district curriculum teams to select resources and develop curriculum documents that align with Michigan Standards.

- Provides leadership in the areas of state and local assessments and school/district improvement to ensure accuracy, timely reporting and compliance with local, state and federal guidelines.

- Demonstrated experience with local, state and federal grants, that includes planning, budgeting, timely reporting and compliance with local, state and federal guidelines.

- Serves as a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet.

- Attends meetings, workshops and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to excel at leadership functions.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

- An unwavering commitment to students, parents and members of the community.

- Effective leadership skills with the ability to motivate others to reach their full potential.

- Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to prioritize many tasks and responsibilities at one time.

- Knowledge of current trends and challenges in education with the ability to synthesize, explain and apply this knowledge within the district.

- Effective problem solving skills with the ability to collaborate with others, consider a variety of information and then take appropriate action.

- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS

- Master’s Degree or higher.

- Valid Michigan Administrative Certification and valid Teacher Certification.

- Minimum of five years of administrative experience.

- Minimum of five years of successful classroom teaching.

- Experience in curriculum planning and implementation.

- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the functions of the position.

- Alternatives as the Superintendent may deem appropriate or acceptable.
