Clintondale Community Schools recently issued the following announcement.
The Dean of Students has broad responsibilities to supervise school activities and coordinate the discipline and attendance policies. This individual unit serves as a liaison between and among the principal, teachers, student body, and members of the community. To Dean is to assist the Principal with providing an educational atmosphere that promotes student learning, student achievement, student discipline, safety, and technology enhancements. The Dean of Students implements School Board policies designed to maintain proper student discipline and student safety. This is grant-funded for 1.5 school years.
COMPENSATION
Starting at $60,000; Salary Commensurate with experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide coaching for teachers to support school-wide and classroom positive behavior interventions and supports; Provides training and support to teachers to ensure expectations are taught, reinforced, and monitored at the school-wide level; Provide training and support to teachers on the critical features and essential practices of behavior management in classroom settings; Communication of positive behavioral interventions and support activities at PLC and staff meetings.
- Collect, maintain and analyze behavior and attendance data.
- Support teachers to implement with fidelity research-based intervention strategies and intervention programs designed to improve the behavior of targeted students.
- Provide strong leadership to the school in positive behavioral interventions and supports.
- Make periodic tours of campus to ensure that school and school board policies are being enforced.
- Counsel with students and parents where behavioral problems exist.
- Assist with the supervision of organized student gatherings and makes sure resources and equipment is available.
- Coordinate the student lunchroom and work duty assignments.
- Coordinate school bus supervision before and after school.
- Investigate problems of a disciplinary nature, document information, and report findings and decisions to appropriate individuals.
- Provide information to the principal regarding teacher effectiveness in classroom management and classroom assignment.
- Assist with the supervision of students detained after school hours for disciplinary actions.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the School Principal and Director of Teaching & Learning.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Administrator certification desired.
- Demonstrated to be highly effective as evidenced by evaluations.
