“The Orphan Train Era”

122 0060 west freemason street hd vlr 4th edition

City of Richmond issued the following announcement on Oct 22.

A GREAT program brought to you by the Richmond Area Historical and Genealogical Society

Friday, November 5, 2021 at 7pm at the Richmond Community Center 36164 Festival Drive Richmond, MI

What was the Orphan Train and why was there one in America? Why were so many children abandoned by their parents? Why were 240,000 children placed in 46 states including Michigan. Al and Dave Eicher's compelling presentation will answer all these questions and more taking us city by city…town by town in Michigan from 1894-1923.

Public invited. $5.00 donation appreciated.

Proceeds support the continuing work of the Richmond Area Historical and Genealogical Society
