MACOMB TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN: Snow Removal Reminder

Snow plow

Macomb Township, Michigan issued the following announcement on Nov. 30.

Property owners are responsible for the removal of snow and/or ice that has accumulated on the public sidewalk adjacent to their property.  When a snow and/or ice event has occurred, it must be removed within 24 hours so far as is practicable and reasonable to allow the safe pedestrian use of such sidewalk.

Failure of owner to remove snow and/or ice in the required 24 hour time frame may result in the Township or its contractor to abate the accumulation of snow and/or ice at the expense of the property owner.

For additional information see Macomb Township Code of Ordinances Chapter 5; Article V; Sec 5-82 (Amendments).
