Township of Shelby issued the following announcement on Nov. 20.
Because of new restrictions from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, the 2020 Shelby Township Christmas Aglow will be virtual this year. Shelby TV and the Community Relations Department are working with Parks, Recreation and Maintenance Department to continue the township's annual tradition and bring the magic of the annual tree lighting into residents' homes.
The event features a visit from Santa Claus who will be welcomed to the township via Zoom by the community’s North Pole ambassadors, the winners of the 2020 Christmas Coloring Contest. The Aglow will air at 7 p.m. Dec. 3 on youtube.com/shelbytownshiptv and at Charter Township of Shelby.
It will also air on Shelby TV on the Comcast cable system on channel 5, on the Wide Open West system on channel 10 and AT&T U-Verse channel 99. Merry Christmas!
