Shelby Public Schools issued the following announcement on Nov. 6.
Under District Health Department #10 direction and guidance, contact tracing and communication to high school families regarding the need to quarantine due to positive cases took place throughout the day Thursday. All families were communicated with over a phone conversation or a message. Please check your messages to be sure this situation does not effect your student.
Dr. Morse, the statewide health department leader guiding schools through this pandemic, stressed today that data is showing that COVID-19 infection is spreading in the community and being brought into the school setting. We remind you to continue to monitor your student for symptoms of COVID-19 and do not allow them to come to school if they have or have had COVID-19 symptoms without guidance from a medical professional.
We look forward to seeing your student back in school tomorrow, Friday, November 6th, so long as they are well and not under direction to quarantine/isolate.
