HURON ACADEMY: This year for March is Reading Month, Huron Academy is going to Space!

Books

Huron Academy issued the following announcement on Feb. 29.

To help kick things off, we will have a Space Theme Jeans Day on Monday, March 2nd. Students must have space related attire on in order to wear jeans.

Both Metro and Utica campuses will have building goals to reach by the end of the month.

Metro Campus - 5,000 Books Read

Utica Campus - 20,000 Minutes of Reading

To reach these goals, we will need your help. Please help your child do their part by encouraging them to read at home and fill out their Reading Log. Reading Logs need to be turned in each Friday to your child’s classroom teacher (March 6th, March 13th, March 20th, and March 27th).

Completed Reading Logs will earn a Free Homework Pass for your child. The top class from each building with the most books/minutes read will be awarded a Donut Party at the end of the Month. If each building meets their goal, we will celebrate by having a 1/2 Day of No Work on April 3rd.

Each building’s progress will be calculated every week and displayed in the main hallway for everyone to see. We hope everyone is excited for the great things coming in March. Students will participate in multiple space-related activities in the classroom as well as a Read-In on April 2nd.

Thank you for helping to make reading out of this world!
