HURON ACADEMY: Charter school funding restored- thank your lawmakers!

Nonprofit funding

Huron Academy issued the following announcement on Dec. 21.

This week the Governor signed Senate Bill 154 to restore the $240-per-student charter school funding increase, which was originally vetoed and cut on October 1, 2019.

This is a HUGE win for the MI charter family. Our collective voices in Lansing were strong and impactful. Together, we sent over 40,000 emails to lawmakers and the Governor, thousands made phone calls, and hundreds showed up for legislative coffee hours, press conferences, and some small protests. Our presence was felt in Lansing, and it reached nearly every corner of the state.

Please send a message to your lawmakers and the Governor thanking them for their support in restoring the funding cut to your charter school.
