Rep. Josh Schriver, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, recently used his social media platform to address several issues including financial practices by banks, legislative actions on drone technology, and government responses to domestic groups.
On September 18, 2025, Schriver expressed concerns about banking practices in the United States. He stated, "When banks can cut off Americans for their beliefs—and no one in government steps in—we don’t have a free country. We have financial blackmail. Debanking must be exposed and stopped."
Later that day, Schriver commented on legislative developments related to drone technology. He wrote on September 18, 2025: "Congress wrote a DJI drone ban into the NDAA—without assigning anyone to actually conduct the review. If no agency acts by December, the ban triggers automatically." The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) is an annual federal law specifying the budget and expenditures for the U.S. Department of Defense.
On September 19, 2025, Schriver addressed actions taken against ANTIFA and referenced recent executive action by former President Trump: "On Monday, I spoke for the elimination of ANTIFA. On Wednesday, President Trump designated ANTIFA as a terrorist organization. Members who join ANTIFA online or donate to ANTIFA need to be arrested immediately. 10 years late is better than never. America isn’t safe."
The term "debanking" refers to instances where financial institutions close accounts or restrict services based on customer profiles or activities—a practice that has drawn scrutiny from lawmakers concerned about potential overreach or discrimination.
DJI is a Chinese company known for manufacturing drones widely used both commercially and recreationally in the United States; proposed bans often cite national security concerns regarding foreign-made technology.
ANTIFA is a loosely organized movement opposing fascism and far-right ideologies; debates over its classification have been ongoing among policymakers and law enforcement officials.
