Rep. Josh Schriver, a member of the Michigan House of Representatives, recently posted several updates on his social media account regarding legislative developments and personal reflections.

On August 25, 2025, Schriver made a religious appeal referencing St. Louis: "St. Louis, pray for us! May we all be as ordered, disciplined, charitable and royal in Spirit as he."

Two days later, on August 27, 2025, Schriver reported progress on the state budget process in Michigan: "MICHIGAN BUDGET: PASSED HOUSE, ONTO SENATE NEGOTIATIONS $5 BILLION BUDGET CUT: NO funding for illegal aliens NO funding for unfilled positions NO funding for state-sponsored lawfare NO funding for Medicaid fraud NO funding for empty programs …and more…" The budget bill referenced by Schriver reflects ongoing efforts within the Michigan legislature to address fiscal concerns through significant spending reductions and reallocation of resources.

Later that same day, Schriver commented on recent executive action by Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer: "BREAKING Under pressure, Gretchen Whitmer signs partial PORN BAN into law. NOTE THIS POSITIVE DEVELOPMENT! KEEP PUSHING FOR TOTAL PORN BAN." This statement refers to new legislation signed by Governor Whitmer aimed at restricting access to certain pornographic materials in the state. The move follows increasing debate among lawmakers and advocacy groups about internet safety and content regulation.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer has previously taken executive actions related to public safety and content regulation in response to legislative initiatives from both parties.

The Michigan budget process typically involves negotiation between the House and Senate before final approval and enactment by the governor. In recent years, debates over allocations for healthcare programs, immigration enforcement, and administrative expenses have been central issues during these negotiations.
