Transit Driver Appreciation Day | Sterling Heights Parks & Recreation fb
On March 18, we're giving a HUGE thank you to our transit drivers in celebration of Transit Driver Appreciation Day.
Did you know...
- In 2022, our amazing transit crew gave over 13,000 rides, which does not include the many rides also given to our Sterlingfest crowd!
- The Sterling Heights Senior Center has 12 regular part-time and three substitute/seasonal drivers.
- Our drivers drove a combined total of 98,587 miles in 2022. That's approximately 380 miles per day of service!
- Many of our drivers are retired school bus drivers who have years of driving experience and are very familiar with Sterling Heights roads.
Fun fact: 11 of the drivers are City residents!
Sterling Heights Mini Bus Service runs Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. for appointments and after 4 p.m. for some Parks and Recreation programming and City Council Meetings. Riders must be a resident and either over the age of 55 and unable to drive or an adult with disabilities. bit.ly/3loXya5
