Smoke Alarms Save Lives

Fires in the home are one of the most common and dangerous hazards families face. Make sure your family has an evacuation plan that you practice regularly, and a communications and reunification plan in case you get separated.

Keep copies of important documents digitally or off-site, or invest in a fire- and waterproof safe. Did you know: the American Red Cross will come to your home to help educate your family about fire hazards, and will install fire alarms for free.

They will even supply you with alarms for family members who are deaf or hard of hearing! Protect your family by making sure everyone knows how to be safe in a fire and having working fire alarms thoughout the house.
