County of Macomb issued the following announcement on July 26.
Macomb County Planning and Economic Development (MCPED) today announced the winners of its Shop Local Macomb Christmas in July contest. Grant recipients include:

- Coffee First Cafe and Bake Shoppe - Sterling Heights
- The Junk Drawer Mercantile - St. Clair Shores
- Max and Ollie’s - Mount Clemens
- New DJ Shop - Warren
- Pop’s Sweets An Treats - Mount Clemens

- Snider Veterinary Services - Clinton Township
- Washington Street Wine House - New Baltimore
- Willy and Babbish Boutique - New Baltimore
“We are thrilled to see this level of interest from the community for our Christmas in July initiative,” said Vicky Rowinski, director, MCPED. “Our independently owned and operated retailers and restaurants need us to shop, dine and promote their businesses, so even though our contest is over, we hope that Macomb County residents and visitors will continue to support local.”
Patrons were able to enter the contest by taking a photo of their local shopping or dining experience (a selfie in front of the store, in the store, making a special purchase, a plated meal, etc.) and entering it through the Shop Local Macomb online portal. Today, MCPED and its program partners, which include First State Bank, the Macomb County Chamber, the Sterling Heights Regional Chamber, the Anchor Bay Chamber, the Eastpointe-Roseville Chamber, the Greater Romeo Washington Chamber, and the Richmond Chamber of Commerce, gathered to randomly pick the contest winners.
