Shelby Public Schools issued the following announcement June 26.

Thank you to the Oceana County Community Foundation for the grant of $3,000 to purchase curriculum for the new Oceana County Early Learning Center. The curriculum for the center will be Connect 4 Learning & Teaching Strategies Gold Curriculum that is currently being used in other districts in Oceana County.

The OCELC program/project is made possible in part by grants from the Child Neglect and Abuse Prevention Fund and Oceana Youth Fund of the Community Foundation for Oceana County. The foundation envisions an Oceana where everyone has access to resources to thrive. It receives and manages contributions from citizens and organizations and has provided nearly $7 million in grants and scholarships back to the community since 1989.
