Rep. Josh Schriver, a Michigan state legislator, recently shared updates and commentary on social media regarding personal milestones, legislative activity, and local development issues.

On March 7, 2026, Schriver posted about his family life: “Otto is 4 months old now. He’s a happy baby.”

Turning to state politics, Schriver criticized recent legislative efforts by Senate Democrats in Michigan. On March 9, 2026, he wrote: “Michigan Senate Democrats pushed SB 681 last term to legalize assisted suicides across Michigan. Lord have mercy.” The bill referenced by Schriver would have legalized physician-assisted suicide for terminally ill patients under certain conditions—a topic that has been debated in various states across the country.

In another post on March 9, 2026, Schriver announced his intention to attend an upcoming planning commission meeting to voice opposition to a proposed data center project in Washington Township. He stated: “On Thursday, March 12th at 6:30pm I’ll be attending the Washington Township Planning Commission meeting to speak against the proposed data center project. These facilities bring major impacts to electricity demand, water use, infrastructure, and community planning. Join me!” Data centers are known for their significant resource requirements and can affect local utilities and infrastructure planning.

Schriver’s posts reflect ongoing debates within Michigan over healthcare policy and community development as well as his engagement with both personal and public matters.
