Rep. Josh Schriver, a member of the Michigan House of Representatives, addressed several issues on September 25, 2025 through his official Twitter account.

In one post from that day, Schriver commented on potential state government actions related to highway funding. He stated, “Pete Buttigeig may push for a MI government shutdown to re-negotiate $100+ million in taxpayer funds to close i375. …wasted money, endless traffic, business closures. Says, ‘but the road is racist?’ His deal hurts Detroit Whites, Blacks, all! Best to avoid this altogether.” (September 25, 2025).

Later the same day, Schriver turned his attention to higher education funding and campus activities at Grand Valley State University. He wrote, “Grand Valley State University attempts to desecrate Holy Mary, Mother of God. These types of actions explain why constituents support my negotiation to decrease the initial draft of the Michigan Higher Education Budget by more than $100 million. More to come on this front!” (September 25, 2025).

In an additional tweet posted that evening regarding a scheduling conflict due to legislative responsibilities in Lansing, Schriver informed followers: “This event will go on, but I won’t be able to make it tonight due to the need for me to be present on the House Floor right now for budget negotiations/votes. I very much look forward to sharing my speech with you at a future event! America…bless God!” (September 25, 2025).

Schriver’s remarks reflect ongoing debates over infrastructure spending and higher education appropriations in Michigan’s legislature. In recent years there has been controversy around proposals affecting I-375 in Detroit and budget reductions targeting state universities.
