The annual Hearts for Hope fundraiser, organized by Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan, took place this year with support from community members and sponsors. The event aimed to raise funds for counseling and mental health services in St. Clair County.
Event Chairs Barb Britz and Jennie McClelland were recognized for their leadership and commitment to the event. In a statement, organizers said, “A special thank you to our dedicated Event Chairs, Barb Britz and Jennie McClelland, whose leadership, generosity, and tireless commitment helped bring this evening to life. Your hearts for service are a blessing to St. Clair County.”
Sponsors included Catholic Financial Life & Woman’s Life as presenting sponsors; The Marriage Group, WGRT 102.3 FM, and St. Clair County Community Mental Health as platinum sponsors; and several gold sponsors such as Barb & Steve Britz, Chris & Jessie Wiegand, Don & Bonnie Fletcher, The McClelland Family, Pollock-Randall Funeral Home, and Grace Memorial. Silver Sponsors and Friends Sponsors also contributed.
Organizers expressed gratitude to all participants: “And to every guest who attended, bid, donated, sponsored, prayed, and believed in this work — thank you.”
Funds raised will help Catholic Charities Counseling Services continue offering counseling and mental health support to children, families, and individuals across St. Clair County.
Archbishop Edward J. Weisenburger attended the event and later shared his reflections in Detroit Catholic. Organizers noted that “His words beautifully captured what this night represented — a community united in mercy and hope.”
Catholic Charities stated that the ongoing support helps them “strengthen families, restore dignity, and build hope — one heart at a time.” Donations are still being accepted.
